SDT Waste and Debris, LLC was established in the days following Hurricane Katrina by Sidney Torres, IV, a well known real estate developer and a Louisiana Native. The company serves parishes throughout Louisiana, providing curbside pickup and debris removal services for municipal, commercial and residential customers.
On June 2, 2011, SDT was acquired by IESI Louisiana Corporation, a subsidiary of Progressive Waste Solutions Ltd. IESI is a full service solid waste management company founded in 1995. In Louisiana, IESI services more than 455,000 commercial, industrial and residential customers, and was instrumental in the Katrina and Rita clean-up efforts.

SDT continues to operate out of its Chalmette and Independence, Louisiana headquarters as a Progressive Waste Solutions company. Sidney D. Torres, IV, is now a consultant to the company. Tom Martyn, District Manager for IESI and based in New Orleans, now oversees the operations.
SDT has all new equipment and a large fleet of quality MACK trucks. With a growing fleet of roll-off, rear/side loaders, and front load trucks, SDT is ready to serve the New Orleans metropolitan area. The ample supply of hundreds of 20, 30, and 40 yard containers allows SDT to provide the quickest service possible. SDT also has a large quantity of commercial containers ranging from 2 yards to 8 yards.
